Germany: we welcome new member firm SCHMID FRANK

 

WLN is thrilled to announce a new member firm has joined us: SCHMID FRANK Rechtsanwälte PartG mbB .

Led by Partners Wolfgang Schmid and Diane Frank Baeza , SCHMID FRANK is a firm with huge expertise in the fields of IT law, data protection, contract law, compliance along with medical law. Both Wolfgang and Diane have long been friends of the WLN so it is very special  now that they join us formally as members.

Wolfgang has been a lawyer since 2002 and a specialist lawyer for information technology law since 2009. He is an external certified data protection officer and a data protection auditor (TÜV) since 2004. Wolfgang gives specialist lectures and activities nationwide, including at the German Lawyers Academy since 2009; at VKU, TÜV Rheinland since 2015; as well as being an author of numerous publications on data protection. He is also an ombudsman for whistleblowers in compliance systems.

Diane has been a lawyer since 2008 and specializes in information technology law and medicine / medical law. Since 2006 she has given advice to international companies in the area of ​​compliance and data protection. Since 2010 she has been a certified data protection officer, data protection auditor (TÜV); a trainer and educator of data protection officers. Diane gives specialist lectures and speaks nationwide (including TÜV Rheinland, IHK Augsburg), specializing in medical facilities, among others. She is theauthor of numerous publications on data protection, including in medical journals and in the work “Data Protection Management Compact” by WEKA Verlag, author and editor of the book “Law for Doctors”, published by Thieme Verlag.

Since 2011 Diane has given advice to doctors, practices and hospitals on legal issues, handling of malpractice procedures, training of doctors and nursing staff. Diane is a member of the labor law, IT law and medical law working groups of the DAV, member of the German-Spanish Lawyers Association.

SCHMID FRANK helps clients to create a sound legal basis for online platforms, data center providers, cloud service providers, IoT and AI and many more. They also support whistleblower systems (whistleblower hotlines) as ombudsman.

In the field of health and medical law, the team help you regarding all matters relating to the everyday life of a health care professional, clinic or other medical institution. This involves preparing all necessary contracts and documents and standing by your side from the establishment of the practice to its sale. They will support and give advice when it comes to statements on legal issues you might have to provide and give guidance with respect to all audits and matters relating to the admission as a healthcare professional. They examine accusations of medical malpractice from all angles.
