Bulgaria: new Personal Data Protection Act

On 26 February 2019, the Bill on Amendment and Supplement of the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act has been promulgated officially in the 17th issue of the State Gazette.

Pursuant to the new law, an employer or a recruitment authority as personal data controller, adopts rules on using of a reporting system for breaches; restrictions on using of in-house firm resources and installation of systems for access control, working time and labour discipline.

Further, the term of storing of participants' personal data in recruitment procedures, can't be longer than 6 months unless the participant agrees on a longer period.
