We are delighted to inform you of our WLN AUTUMN 2019 CONFERENCE in LISBON, Portugal on 19 and 20 September 2019, hosted by VSA – VAZ SERRA & ASSOCIADOS.
WLN has been in Portugal before, in 2008 in Lisbon and Estoril. This time we are in the heart of Lisbon. For those in the know, Lisbon is a city of history, music, sport, culture and good food - the perfect place for both conference and city break.
WHEN IS THE CONFERENCE?
The business part of the conference will take place on Friday 20 September 2019.
The social programme starts on Thursday evening 19 September 2019 at 18.00 hours with a drinks reception, followed by an informal dinner. Depending on the number of delegates we will be having the reception at the office of our hosts. Please make sure you arrive on time!
For the record: there will be no Saturday programme scheduled this time, to allow you time to explore Lisbon.
WHERE IS THE CONFERENCE?
The Conference venue is the splendid and famous Pousada de Lisboa at the Praça do Comércio which is in the heart of Lisbon’s “Baixa Pombalina”, next to the river. A truly beautiful setting. The Pousada is a small boutique hotel with a nice conference facility and excellent F&B and is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
WHERE DO I STAY OVERNIGHT?
There is no designated conference accomodation for this conference. You can stay at the Pousada (the hotel where our conference will take place) subject to availability, or you can pick your own place to stay! Hotels, B&B or any other alternative: please make arrangements for your overnight stay at the price and comfort level you want. Just make sure it is not too far from the Praça do Comércio.
HOW DO I GET TO LISBON?
Most participants will arrive by air. Lisbon airport (LIS - there is only one) is well equipped, close to the city (a taxi ride to your accommodation generally costs less than €20) and there are lots of low cost airlines that fly to this destination.
BUSINESS: WHAT IS ON THE FRIDAY PROGRAMME?
At our conference on Friday 20 September 2019 (from 08.30-17.30 hrs), we will be talking about TRANSACTIONS & SPORTS.

We engaged some very interesting speakers for this conference, part of which will be staged under the banner WLN ACADEMY.
AND HOW ABOUT THE SOCIAL PROGRAMME?
Our hosts, VSA-Vaz Serra & Associados invited us to a drinks reception on Thursday 19 September 2019. This will be followed by dinner at Praia No Parque restaurant. On Friday we will be having some drinks at Lisbon’s riverside, with view on the “Golden Gate Bridge” followed by a short sightseeing tour and a fantastic dinner in the heart of Lisbon at Palacio de Sant'Anna.
We expect some of you to stay for the weekend, because this is a perfect opportunity to discover Lisbon and enjoy Portuguese hospitality!
WHAT WILL IT COST?
In addition to your hotel and travel (which you are responsible for), WLN will charge € 385,- to cover:
- dinner and hosts' drinks reception on Thursday,
- the full conference day on Friday (including lunch and all coffee brakes) and
- sunset drinks, sightseeing and dinner on Friday evening (incl. drinks).
